STAR Academy
Please note that winter invoices will not be sent out before Oct 12, 2024.
STAR Academy is for skaters who have completed STAR 1 assessments and are working on STAR 2 through 5. Sessions are 60 minutes long with 45 minutes of group lessons included. Skaters will have 15 minutes of open practice time and may book a private lesson with a coach (depending on coach availability). Private lessons are not included in the cost of the program. It is recommended that skaters skate two to three times a week and participate in the off-ice program. Opportunities to have a program and compete at recreational competitions are available. Choreography lessons are not included in the cost of the program. Figure skates are a requirement.
The STAR 1-5 program offers the best-in-class figure skating curriculum in Canada, targeting athletes looking for a future in the sport. Taught by Skate Canada NCCP coaches, the program introduces participants to the basic figure skating elements to create the foundation for singles, pairs, ice dance and synchronized skating.
All skaters in this program must have passed CanSkate Stage 6 or equivalent. Skaters may be any age. Adaptive skaters who have the required skating ability welcome.
